This DIY body cream with jasmine wax has a natural intense and sensual scent that lasts the whole day.
The credit goes to tonka bean absolute and jasmine wax, a winning combination sweetened by a few drops of benzoin. If you like vanilla and gourmand notes, you’ll love it!
Thanks to a high percentage of oils and mango butter, It has a luscious and thick texture that softens and nourishes the skin. However, the fragrant jasmine wax reduces the greasy effect making this DIY body cream more pleasant. Some of the oils I put in the recipe contribute to this effect as well. I’m talking about Coco caprylate and Fractionated coconut oil.
Macadamia and coconut oils give a nourishing and velvety effect.
This DIY body cream with jasmine wax formula contains allantoin to moisturize and soothe the skin and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and repair.
Floral waxes are not commonly used in handmade creams, but I love such poetic ingredients and the purpose of this blog is to create beauty that sparkles joy and to surprise you with something different!

If you are not familiar with how to make a DIY cream, check this guide before making this DIY body cream with jasmine wax
- Boil 56.3 g of water, add allantoin and dissolve it while stirring with a spoon.
- Pour the resulting solution straight into a heat resistant beaker where you have previously mixed the glycerin and the two gums (Xanthan and Guar). Whisk to form the gel.
- Pour the oil phase ingredients into another heat resistant beaker.
- Heat the oil phase ingredients in a double boiler until the waxes are completely melted. Heat the water beaker as well at the same time.
- Add the mango butter to the oil phase beaker and melt it.
- Combine the two phases (the two containers should be the same temperature, around 70 degrees) and blend for 2 minutes with a immersion blender.
- Transfer to a cold water bath and stir with a spatula until cooling it down.
- Add the cooling down phase ingredients one by one, mixing with a spatula. Then, give a final whisk with the immersion blender.
- Measure the pH, which should be between 5 and 5.5.
- Por your DIY body cream in a 100 ml Jar. The cream reaches its firm consistency the next day.
Notes and ingredients substitutions
- Oils and butters can be substituted with others of similar density and characteristics. Mango butter can be replaced with Shea butter. Check the oils and butters chart for more info.
- If you miss Guar gum, use Xanthan gum only. It make the emulsion more stable.
- Glycerin, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate gel are not essential, although you would lose their benefits.
- Emulsifying wax number 2 (Xyliance) can be substituted with other emulsifiers allowed in natural cosmetics, such as Olivem 1000.
- Carrot oleolite is needed to achieve a more inviting color. You can omit it.
- Jasmine wax can be substituted with beeswax, but if you want to keep the same fragrance you must use the most expensive jasmine essential oil.
- Tonka bean absolute and benzoin are needed to obtain such a wonderful scent. Of course, you can substitute them with any other fragrance (essential oils, absolutes or natural fragrances), being careful with the doses indicated on the package. They are also great on their own.
- Keep in mind that scents, including the natural ones, can be irritating for people who are allergic or particularly sensitive. Don’t use this cream during pregnancy.
