I am happy to introduce you my latest creation: a solid face lotion bar recipe specifically formulated for combination skin. Its formula is designed to hydrate and balance sebum levels simultaneously, helping to mattify the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture. Say goodbye to oily skin, dryness and breakouts with a lotion bar that leaves your skin soft, hydrated, and refreshed.
The Power of Kokum Butter in my Face Lotion Bar Recipe
One of the standout ingredients in my solid face lotion bar recipe is kokum butter. Unlike cocoa butter, which is comedogenic and best reserved for body and lip products, kokum butter is non-greasy and has a light touch, making it perfect for facial skincare. It ensures that your skin feels nourished and moisturized without clogging your pores or causing breakouts. Kokum butter’s dry and light sensation allows the lotion bar to glide smoothly over your skin, leaving behind a velvety finish.
Focus on the Solid Lotion Bar Recipe Ingredients
In creating this solid face lotion bar recipe, I have carefully selected ingredients that are both non-comedogenic and beneficial for oily and combination skin:
- Kokum Butter: Non-greasy, light sensation, and perfect for face skincare.
- Candelilla Wax: Non-comedogenic, provides a dry finish, and helps the lotion bar maintain its shape.
- Fractionated Coconut Oil: Quick absorption, light texture, and antimicrobial properties suitable for acne-prone skin.
- Hazelnut Oil: Quick absorption, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, soothing, and sebum-regulating properties.
- Alpha-Bisabolol and Farnesol: Anti-inflammatory, bacteriostatic, antibacterial, and soothing properties, particularly useful for acne-prone skin.
- Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil: Antibacterial, astringent, anti-inflammatory, and antidepressant properties with a vibrant and happy aroma. It truly sparkles joy!
How to Use this solid face lotion bar
This versatile solid face lotion bar offers various application methods tailored to your needs and preferences. While way lighter than typical lotion bars, it retains a rich, solid butter texture, delivering a nourishing and hydrating sensation favored by those with combination skin. Unlike ultra-light creams, it provides a depth of moisture that can be particularly appealing to this skin type and for over 30.
Upon application, you'll experience its initial luxurious richness, which gradually absorbs, leaving the skin feeling soft and perfectly hydrated within minutes. Due to its richness, this lotion may be best utilized as a nightly leave-on lotion-mask. It offers intense hydration without the risk of breakouts, thanks to its non-comedogenic ingredients and special actives such as farnesol. Additionally, it can be incorporated into your skincare routine as a replacement for face oil or oil-based serums, applied before your regular hydrating cream for enhanced nourishment and moisture retention.
Another advantage of such a solid face bar recipe is that it doesn’t contain preservatives as it’s water-free. Also, liposoluble actives penetrate better into the skin because they can easily traverse the skin barrier, dissolving in the skin's natural oils and lipids, facilitating their penetration into deeper layers.
