This DIY sheet mask recipe has a real queen scent thanks to the notes of the noble neroli hydrosol, organic honey and royal jelly.
Ideal for whenever you want to treat yourself with something that sparkles joy while deeply moisturizing your skin. You'll feel it as soon as you remove the mask!
The luscious neroli, which is obtained from bitter orange blossoms, is named after the princess of Nerola, who spread it from the 17th century onward to the various European courts, even reaching that of Louis XIV. Ladies used it to perfume gloves, handkerchiefs, clothes and bath water. As you can see, it was a way to sparkle joy when they needed it!
Royal jelly, the queen bee’s food, is contains proteins, B vitamins, sugars, lipids and minerals.
As for its cosmetic properties, there are conflicting opinions about it despite the wide variety of cosmetics that contain it. If you do a search on the Internet, you will find recent studies proving its anti-aging, antioxidant, healing and anti-inflammatory effects. It could also stimulate collagen production. There are no high-caliber studies that prove 100% the effectiveness of this ingredient, and personally, I believe the truth lies somewhere in between. If you are interested in the topic, I recommend that you inform yourself by forming your own opinion about it.
I believe that it is an ingredient with interesting properties that could bring something positive to this DIY sheet mask recipe. That said, you can choose to omit it or not.
I also like royal jelly for its scent, which I have been fond of since childhood. I used to take it in the morning when I needed a dose of energy. Some people don't like its taste, but I love its aftertaste.
The recipe also contains hydrating and anti-aging sodium hyaluronate gel (click here to learn how to prepare it at home) and fragrant, moisturizing and rejuvenating organic honey.

- Put the ingredients in a small container and stir until you see that there is no more residue of honey and fresh royal jelly.
- Splash the compressed sheet mask into the solution you made and wait for it to hydrate by absorbing all the liquid. If necessary, rotate it to facilitate this step.
- Unroll the mask and apply it to the face for no more than 10 minutes (Why? Discover it here).
- Remove the mask without rinsing and apply the oil right away. Then, apply moisturizer to complete the treatment. This is a crucial step that should not be skipped at all, as it seals the mask properties to your face.
